This page is graphics intensive!
Please allow sufficient time for it to load
The following are just a few of the sites that have been cluttering my Bookmarks file for quite some time. If you find something you want to look at, just click on the underlined link or the associated graphic. It's a pretty mixed bag, but I'm certain you'll find something here to interest you and con you into wasting even more time on the Internet than you already do...
All Things Musical
The Bobs’ Home Page - For the uninitiated, The Bobs are a self-described “new wave accapella group”. They have been one of my personal underground favorites since I accidentally stumbled across their first album (remember vinyl?) back in the late seventies. Nothing is sacred to the Bobs. One moment they might be doing a hilarious punk sendup of Cream’s “White Room”, the next a tender ballad of a man so shy he can only admire his lady fair “Through the Walls”, the next performing the first (and only) accapella “Bulky Rhythm Polka”. Their site contains all the latest Bobs info, links to various places on the web where you can download audio and Quicktime video clips of their music, and even an online version of their newsletter. BTW, the Bobs take their name from the dog show term for “Best Of Breed” and live up to it in every sense of the word. OK, guys - you can send me those free CD’s now...

The Mouth Bandits SOURCE - This Champaign/Urbana, IL duo has been turning out fantastic music (and comedy) for more years with less public recognition than anyone else I can think of. I first became aquainted with Bruce Buckingham and Craig Johnson through my association with the now defunct Independent Music Network and subsequently as contributors to the nationally syndicated Guide Wire Radio program for which I served as Executive Producer. If you feel like it, join us over at Delphi for the Mouth Bandits Forum. So drop by Groovy Bush or the Mouth Bandits Forum and take a quick peek into the minds of two gentlemen I am pleased to call my friends. You should even order a CD or two from them - you won’t be disappointed, I promise...

The Official Klaatu Homepage
|
|
|
So who the hell is Klaatu? Well, Klaatu just happens to be, in my opinion, the single most overlooked band of the 1970s! This Canadian group produced some of the finest progressive/art rock albums of the period, and yet scarcely anyone knows they existed. Although they did achieve a bit of buzz due to rumors that they were the Beatles recording under an assumed name, their closest brush with mainstream fame came when the Carpenters recorded a hideous cover version of their song “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft”. Check out this site or the Klaatu Audiophile Appreciation Society Forum on Delphi to get background info on this amazing band as well as a listing of sources for their music.

The Church of the Subgenius SubSITE - Welcome to the Fold... the great fold between time and space from whence emanates the SMOKE from BOB'S PIPE, and, on rare occasions, the stench of his burning flesh -- and even more frequently, ours. For just as Dobbs replenisheth us with Slack in abundance, so too is he a harsh taskmaster for those of us who wear his YOKE. And while you're checking out all the madness and insanity at the SubSITE, be sure to listen to a few episodes of “The Hour of Slack.” PRAISE BOB (and his Great White Harse...)

The Doctor Who Homepage
|
| OK, I’ll admit it. I’ve been a fan of this cheesy British science fiction program for longer than I care to remember. It has been my experience that there are no casual Doctor Who fans - just rabid supporters who can quote you the title of every episode aired in this show’s twenty-odd year run on the BBC along with a complete list of the cast members and a plot synopsis. (I personally have videotape copies of every single episode that was made available to American audiences, much to my wife’s chagrin). Really, we’re worse than Trekies!

An online source for CDs, tapes, and videos from my favorite ex-Monkee. Includes “The Long Sandy Hair of Neftoon Zamora” (surreal fiction by Papa Nez himself) and much more. NOTE: Make sure you have the QuickTime Movie player installed on your machine to get the maximum effect out of this site - it's absolutely loaded with video clips...

My favorite entertainment business site. Updated daily, you can get the latest entertainment news here long before it hits “Entertainment Tonight” or “Extra”. While you're there, be sure to check out “The Mr. Showbiz Plastic Surgery Page” (a really fun game) and participate in their daily “Water Cooler Poll”.

The home of the Douglas Adams / “Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy” FAQ. Lots of thoroughly twisted stuff here...
“Moon Over Parma bring my love to me tonight. Got her to Cleveland underneath your silvery light. We're goin’ bowlin’, so don't loose her in Solon. Moon over Parma tonight.”
The Drew Carey Show is one of my guilty pleasures. While “Seinfeld” may claim to be a show about nothing, this one really IS! At any rate, this site has audio clips, pics, and links to other Drew related locations on the web. Hint: If you have Java enabled, try running your mouse over the cast picture on the right for a little surprise... Pop open a “Buzz” and enjoy Moon Over Parma!

ZBS Media - Ever hear the radio series “The Fourth Tower of Inverness”? Or maybe “Ruby”? How about “The Cabinet of Dr. Fritz”? Well, whether you realize it or not, all of these audio gems are the work of ZBS Media. The ZBS Foundation is a not-for-profit arts organization that has been in existence for 25 years. They used to get arts grants to produce their stories, but those days have been blown away by the hot breezes coming from our nation's seat of power. Now they sell their cassettes and CDs via mail order and through the web (at very reasonable prices, I might add) so they can continue to produce these “little wonders”. They're fun, they're entertaining, and they actually say things. Check ‘em out!

| “Hello. I've been waiting for you. Actually, I haven't been waiting, and there's no ‘I’ here. As a matter of fact, there's no ‘here’ here, but don't get me started. And, if I do, don't let me finish...” The previous intro (stolen directly from the site) gives you an idea of where this is all going. The main feature of “From the Edge of America” is the webcast of the syndicated radio show “Le Show”, but there's lots lots more from he of The National Lampoon Radio Hour, Saturday Night Live, The Simpsons and Spinal Tap fame. NOTE: This site requires you to have the RealAudio player installed.

Regularly updated musings on life, the universe and everything from The Pooper himself, the always inventive Master of a Thousand Voices, Hemlock Stones, Nino the Mindboggler, Rocky Roccocco, the one, the only - Phil Proctor. He has been dashing off these short commentaries on the News of the Day for friends and devotees since July of 1996. After having difficulty posting them in the newsgroup alt.comedy.firesgn-thtre, he graciously allowed the collection of them at this Web Site. By the way, Phil also is a regular contributor to fellow Firesign alumnus Peter Bergman's “Radio Free OZ” (listed above).

Originally a series of newspaper columns which ran from 1881 through 1906 and were first published under this title in 1911, this bit of cynical humor by Ambrose Bierce has been often imitated but never duplicated.
Your tax $$$ at work. An absolutely gorgeous collection of images from the Hubbell Space Telescope. Easily my favorite wallpaper source.

Need a drive, sound card, network card, CD, game cartridge, autograph, trading card, comic book, antique, collectable, or just about anything else in the world? Then eBay’s AuctionWeb should become a regular stop for you. IMHO, this is absolutely the best site of its type on the web. WARNING: The AuctionWeb is not only habit-forming but downright addictive! And believe it or not when I first posted this link, hardly anybody had heard of this site. I’m gettin’ really old, man...
If you find any dead links on this page, please e-mail me with the details and I'll get them fixed as soon as possible.
